How to watch Germany v Scotland as Tartan Army take on hosts in Euro 2024 opener

Scotland will begin their Euro 2024 campaign on Friday night as they take on hosts Germany in the tournament’s opening game.

The Tartan Army are kicking off the summer showpiece in Munich and will be hoping to pull off a huge upset to throw Group A instantly into chaos. 

Steve Clarke’s side were impressive during qualification and could take that form into the tournament, but they face a tough task. 

Germany are their first opponents and Julian Nagelsmann’s men are one of the favourites to go all the way on their own turf.

Die Mannschaft haven’t enjoyed many of their recent major competitions, however, they will fancy their chances with a strong squad selected.

A win in the opening game of the Euros will be crucial for both countries and it is expected to be a thriller to kick things off.

The Euro 2024 opener will take place on Friday, June 14. 

Kick-off at the Allianz Arena is scheduled for 8pm. 

The action will be broadcast live and free-to-air on ITV1.

Germany vs Scotland: Team news 

Germany will have Kai Havertz up front for their opener after Nagelsmann confirmed that the Arsenal man will be his striker. 

Toni Kroos should start in midfield in what will be his final few games as a footballer before he retires after the tournament. 

Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz are two of the best young players in the world and will play a major role in their attacking play. 

As for Scotland, captain Andy Robertson and Lawrence Shankland both had to pull out of training ahead of their opening game. 

That raised major concerns over their fitness but assistant manager John Carver insisted both decisions were more precautionary.
