They’ll be the second set of teams from Group B to kick-start their campaigns after Namibia and Oman, who played out a thrilling fixture on Monday that went into a Super Over and concluded with a Namibian victory.

England had become only the second team after West Indies to win the T20 World Cup for a second time in 2022. The Jos Buttler-led side had thrashed India by 10 wickets in the semi-final in Adelaide before handing Pakistan a five-wicket defeat in the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

England, however, had a disappointing ODI World Cup campaign last year, failing to defend the title they had won at home in 2019 by winning three and losing six matches.

Buttler and Co, however, arrived in the Caribbean on the back of a 2-0 victory in a four-match T20I series against Pakistan at home, defeating the Babar Azam-led side convincingly at Edgbaston and at The Oval.

Before the match gets underway on Tuesday at 10.30 am local time (8 pm IST/2.30 pm BST), we take a look at the T20I head-to-head record between the two neighbouring nations as well as the pitch and conditions at Bridgetown along with information on live telecast.

England vs Scotland weather forecast

The England-Scotland fixture might witness some weather interruptions with thunderstorms predicted for Tuesday morning in Bridgetown, Barbados.

“Widely separated morning thunderstorms; otherwise, humid with a thick cloud cover,” reads the forecast on Accuweather.com, which also forecasts a 55 per cent chance of rain and a 33 per cent chance of thunderstorms.

Kensington Oval pitch report

One of the most iconic cricketing venues not just in the Caribbean but across the world, the Kensington Oval — which hosted the final of the 2007 ODI World Cup along with the 2010 T20 World Cup — will be hosting its second match of the tournament on Tuesday.

The venue isn’t exactly a batting paradise with 138 being the average first innings score. Additionally, the Kensington Oval is partial towards seam bowlers and offers a hint of movement early on in the game. It was very much the case in the Namibia vs Oman match on Monday, in which both teams were tied on 109 and seamers collected 11 of the 16 wickets that fell in the game.

England vs Scotland head-to-head

Tuesday’s match will be the first time England and Scotland will be meeting in a Twenty20 International.
