LAWRENCE SHANKLAND is gearing up for Scotland’s Euro adventure under Steve Clarke.

The Hearts striker was included in the provisional 28 man squad heading to Germany after a tremendous domestic season.

The hitman racked up 31 goals across all competitions and bagged the Player of the Year award.

He was recalled into the national squad in March of last year after an injury to Che Adams and he has kept his place in and around the team since.

He has been heavily linked with a move to his boyhood club Rangers over a number of transfer windows but nothing has ever came to fruition.

But with just 12 months left on his current contract and no new deal penned as of yet, Philippe Clement could perhaps look to take the forward to Ibrox this summer.

But Shankland admits he takes no notice of headlines surrounding his future and that Gorgie feels like his ‘home’, saying he would never disrespect the club.

He told FourFourTwo: “Honestly? I see it as noise in the background. If anything, it’s a sign that I’m doing something right.

“It’s not something I’m hyping up, so I just let it wash over me and concentrate on football. That will always be the priority for me.

“On top of that, I would never disrespect Hearts. They’ve been great for me, and I like to think I’ve been good for them in return.”

“I’d say so, yeah (if he feels at home.) I bounced around a little bit.

“Maybe I jumped at opportunities and experiences. But I do feel at home now and that can only be a good thing for your football.

“Having babies helps as well, even if it leads to a few sleepless nights!”

Scotland kick off the summer’s big competition when they face hosts Germany on June 14.

They will also take on Hungary and Switzerland with hopes of progressing out of the groups into the latter stages.
